Serait-il possible de confier l\u2019innovation au hasard\u00a0? Dans sa proposition, par une organisation ad\u00e9quate et une approche d\u2019ouverture et de curiosit\u00e9, la s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9 syst\u00e9matis\u00e9e pourrait contribuer \u00e0 l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des dispositifs d\u2019innovation des entreprises. Suivant cette proposition, cet article tente de proposer une r\u00e9flexion de la transposition de cet \u00ab\u00a0outil\u00a0\u00bb au service de l&rsquo;innovation d\u2019une entreprise de coaching professionnel.<\/p>\n<p>Epist\u00e9mologiquement, la s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9 rel\u00e8verait d&rsquo;une capacit\u00e9 de mise en \u0153uvre d&rsquo;un processus cognitif. Selon la psychologie du d\u00e9veloppement cognitif, ledit processus pourrait ainsi comprendre diff\u00e9rents stades de d\u00e9veloppement chez l&rsquo;individu. Dans le cadre d&rsquo;un d\u00e9ploiement de cette capacit\u00e9 dans une situation donn\u00e9e, le processus permettrait au dit individu de conscientis\u00e9 la valeur ou la potentialit\u00e9 d&rsquo;un \u00e9v\u00e9nement, concept ou objet obtenu de fa\u00e7on non pleinement anticip\u00e9e. La notion d&rsquo;anticipation de l\u2019occurrence relevant alors des diff\u00e9rentes acceptions de Paul Thagard\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>trouver quelque chose que l&rsquo;on ne cherchait pas ;<\/li>\n<li>trouver quelque chose que l&rsquo;on cherchait mais par un moyen impr\u00e9vu ;<\/li>\n<li>bien trouver quelque chose, mais qui sert \u00e0 tout autre chose que ce \u00e0 quoi on pensait au d\u00e9part.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Par ailleurs, il serait \u00e0 noter qu&rsquo;en consid\u00e9rant le stade de d\u00e9veloppement du processus chez l&rsquo;individu comme variable d\u00e9pendante d&rsquo;\u00e9tude. L&rsquo;occurrence de l&rsquo;objet par lequel l&rsquo;individu pourrait faire preuve de s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9 serait une variable ind\u00e9pendante pour l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rimentateur dans l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation d&rsquo;un niveau de d\u00e9veloppement du processus chez l&rsquo;individu.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ce cadre, la proposition de r\u00e9flexion pour cet article est d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer la valeur de ce processus cognitif dans le cadre d&rsquo;un processus de coaching. L&rsquo;articulation envisag\u00e9 est autour de deux dimensions :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quel protagoniste du processus pourrait endosser le r\u00f4le de l&rsquo;inventeur ?<\/li>\n<li>Comment pourrait \u00eatre mise en jeu l&rsquo;appr\u00e9ciation de l&rsquo;importance de la d\u00e9couverte issue du processus cognitif ?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tout d&rsquo;abord, s&rsquo;il est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 le coach comme exp\u00e9rimentateur de la capacit\u00e9 de s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Sur le plan op\u00e9rationnel, le coach est dans une posture basse sur le contenu. En ce sens, il ne cherche pas mais interroge la demande du client dans ses diff\u00e9rentes dimensions. Le coach pourrait alors faire preuve de s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9 en trouvant par les transactions du client, un levier d&rsquo;activation de la motivation ou un questionnement permettant d&rsquo;induire le repositionnement de son client. Par son ouverture et sa posture base sur le contenu, le coach pourrait d\u00e9couvrir de tels \u00e9l\u00e9ments sans l&rsquo;avoir anticip\u00e9. Ce point peut n\u00e9anmoins \u00eatre remis en question par l&rsquo;approche de l&rsquo;entretien et la posture sur le cadre.<\/p>\n<p>Sur un plan tactique, le coach d\u00e9ploie en effet un ou plusieurs outils pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 son obligation de moyen dans le processus de coaching. En revanche, selon l\u2019aphorisme d\u2019Alfred Korzybski \u00ab\u00a0la carte n&rsquo;est pas le territoire\u00a0\u00bb. Ainsi, l&rsquo;outil mis en \u0153uvre est envisag\u00e9 sur le base d&rsquo;une repr\u00e9sentation du territoire du client, sa rationalit\u00e9 subjective. La d\u00e9couverte issue de l&rsquo;exploration remet en jeu cette dite repr\u00e9sentation du client. Cette \u00e9volution perp\u00e9tuelle pendant et hors du cadre des s\u00e9ances positionne le coach comme explorateur plus que comme inventeur. En ce sens, il serait incorrect de dire que le coach trouverait ce qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;attendait pas. Puisqu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;attend rien du territoire de son client autre qu&rsquo;une repr\u00e9sentation \u00e0 l&rsquo;instant pr\u00e9sent.<\/p>\n<p>En revanche, par les transactions propos\u00e9es par le client, le coach pourrait d\u00e9couvrir un levier ou un relais de d\u00e9ploiement de ces outils qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;attendait pas. Il lui appartiendrait alors d&rsquo;\u00eatre conscient de la d\u00e9couverte et de sa valeur dans la mise en \u0153uvre du processus pour induire une prise de recul, un positionnement, etc. Par extension, la notion d&rsquo;importance de la d\u00e9couverte est une \u00e9valuation qui serait alors de la responsabilit\u00e9 du coach. Par son obligation de moyens pour son client, il ne pourrait d\u00e9ontologiquement objecter l&rsquo;usage d&rsquo;un moyen important pour le coaching tout en ayant conscience de ce dernier.<\/p>\n<p>Sur le plan \u00e9pist\u00e9mologique, le coach pourrait \u00e9galement \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme interm\u00e9diaire du d\u00e9veloppement du processus cognitif chez le client. Si l&rsquo;on consid\u00e8re un outil du processus de coaching, tel que la dissonance cognitive selon le principe de Festinger dans le cadre de la th\u00e9orie de consistance cognitive. Par la mise en exergue des dissonances cognitives du client, le coach induit aupr\u00e8s de ce dernier une prise de recul voire un repositionnement, en d&rsquo;autres termes et dans une certaine mesure il am\u00e8ne le client \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0trouver\u00a0\u00bb un nouveau point de vue, une nouvelle vision de son objectif ou de ses ressources dans l&rsquo;atteinte de son objectif. Par cette d\u00e9marche, le client pourrait alors en arriver \u00e0 trouver quelque chose qu&rsquo;il ne cherchait pas ou qu&rsquo;il cherchait mais hors du cadre utilis\u00e9 par le coach. Cette seconde vision pourrait \u00eatre relativis\u00e9e dans la mesure o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on consid\u00e8re le coaching comme moyen de la d\u00e9couverte. Dans ce cas, le client \u00e9tant \u00e0 la base de la demande, il conna\u00eet et pr\u00e9voit par son engagement dans le processus le moyen de sa d\u00e9couverte. Ce point rejoindrait la seconde approche de la s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9 propos\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>En poursuivant dans cette seconde perspective, si l&rsquo;on consid\u00e8re la capacit\u00e9 du client \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre ce processus cognitif.<\/p>\n<p>Le client formule par sa demande et son engagement dans le processus de coaching la volont\u00e9 de s&rsquo;inscrire dans une posture d&rsquo;inventeur de sa propre solution. Par la formulation de sa demande, le client exprime son attente vis-\u00e0-vis d&rsquo;une chose \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir le concernant. De plus, en s&rsquo;engageant en conscience dans le processus de coaching il fait appel \u00e0 un outil par lequel il va envisager une solution qu&rsquo;il ne trouve pas ou qui ne lui convient pas dans la forme qu&rsquo;il peut en donner \u00e0 cet instant. Cependant, si l&rsquo;on consid\u00e8re qu&rsquo;un client n&rsquo;exp\u00e9rimente un coaching qu&rsquo;une seule fois dans sa vie, dans la mesure o\u00f9 le processus induit l&rsquo;autonomisation et la responsabilisation du client. Le client est a priori dans une posture ne lui permettant pas de conscientiser ce qu&rsquo;il va \u00ab\u00a0trouver\u00a0\u00bb par cette forme d&rsquo;accompagnement. En ce sens, il s&rsquo;agit bien de s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9 si le client parvient au terme de son coaching. Le moyen de cette d\u00e9couverte n&rsquo;en est pas pour autant impr\u00e9vu, au contraire \u00e0 travers l&rsquo;engagement en pleine conscience du client dans le processus de coaching. On pourrait parler alors de s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9 de type 2 ou 4 pour un client. Toutefois, si le client s&rsquo;engage dans le processus de coaching sur la base d&rsquo;une non demande, le processus de coaching n&rsquo;est alors pas pleinement d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 et le client refuserait de reconna\u00eetre ses ressources et sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir une solution qu&rsquo;il ne parvient \u00e0 envisager \u00e0 cet instant.
